For me, the Klingenstein master's program was much more than a degree, enriching courses or good teaching. There was a focus on building a strong cohort of professional colleagues who continue to enrich each others' lives long after the program ends by sharing new innovations, learning and expertise. In that sense, our degrees are not stagnant or dated, but are part of an ongoing education that relies on a pool of the most talented and highly-motivated colleagues and school leaders I have ever met.

More than anything, the Klingenstein program cast a bright light onto the unexplored nooks and crannies, so to speak, of how independent schools operate. It helped me to fill those gaps, big and small, alongside thoughtful and dedicated lifelong learners. My program experience made me a better inquirer and learner, buoyed my confidence in my work supporting colleagues and students, and connected me indelibly with some of the most talented educators in the world. I returned to my school after both summers with a far clearer personal vision and a clearer voice with which to help enrich my school's larger vision.

I apply aspects of my Klingenstein experience to my role at Princeton Day School every single day. Serving as a head of Middle School requires extraordinary flexibility, but also a firm leadership core. The Klingenstein program pushed me to refine my leadership foundation so that I can lead with greater purpose, confidence and clarity.

The two-summer Masters program was a transformative experience for me. Exhilarating, exhausting and always illuminating, the program pushed me to become clearer in purpose and vision as an educator. Through well-designed and well-delivered classes in leadership, philosophy, law, negotiation, and more, I learned so much about myself, my profession, and what it means to be a 21st century learner and leader. Additional gifts include life-long relationships with members of my cohort as well as my professors and a network of inspiring and supportive graduates across the globe.
