Inaugural Dissertation Fellowship: Research in Independent and International Education

The Klingenstein Center at Teachers College supports research and emerging scholarship concerning independent and international education. Doctoral students in departments and programs at TC make inquiry into this global and complex area of education the focus of or an element of their dissertation. To support such dissertation inquiry, the Klingenstein Center offers for the first time a $10,000 doctoral research fellowship for a Teachers College student whose dissertation focuses in whole or in part on independent and international education.

Eligibility

Students from any program or department at Teachers College who have defended their dissertation proposal and will be meeting continuous enrollment requirements in Fall 2024 are eligible for this fellowship. Applications are due by May 31, 2024. Fellows will be notified of their selection by June 30, 2024. Funds will be awarded for the Fall 2024 semester and will disburse fully by August 31, 2025.

If selected, fellows are expected to participate in the Center’s CoLab (Cohort Lab) or KlingSalon meetings in Fall 2024. Fellows will have the opportunity to share their work in progress with Klingenstein Center students and would have access to people and schools in the Klingenstein network to aid their research further.
