Jessica Flaxman is the Dean of Faculty and Employees and the Director of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning at Rye Country Day School in Rye, NY. She previously served in a number of independent school leadership roles including Assistant Head of School and Middle School Head, Upper School Director of Studies, and English Department Chair. A writer and editor, Jessica is actively involved in different collaborative publications committed to amplifying professional growth, literacy, and storytelling including Klingbrief and Well-Schooled, the Site for Education Storytelling. Jessica earned her B.A. in English from Wesleyan University, her M.A. in English from Columbia University, her Ed.M. in Independent School Leadership from the Klingenstein Center at Teachers College, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the Mid-Career Doctoral Program at Penn GSE.
